Mrs. Jaya Ganapathy, based in Mumbai has been mentoring with Lokalex Study Centers for the past 3 – 4 years. She enrolled and completed her Msc and MPhil at the age of 51 and has had vast experience working with HIV patients, Sex Workers, Transgenders and Homosexuals. Mrs. Jaya has also worked extensively with Government school children in Mumbai by counselling them and also helping them excel in academics. She along with her friends have formed a group where they work with the local community children in nurturing them. She also enjoys playing the Grandmother role in shaping and nurturing her grand daughter.
Mr. Srinivasan joined Lokalex’s initiative 2 yrs ago with the school in Karaikal. He conducted spoken English sessions for 8th Std children and is currently workin with the Namakkal School children. Mr. Srinivasan is an alumni from IIT Kharagpur and has worked at TIFR, Tata Motors, Patni and has also headed other IT firms.
Mr. V. Umamaheshwar from Pune, is a retired IT profession with 30 years of experience. He teaches Spoken English through Skype at a Municipal school in a village, Anur at Kagal Taluka in Kolhapur. Aundh area. He has been associated with lokalex for the past two years and has been mentoring class 3 and 5 children of the Namakkal School.
Mrs. Shoba Srinivasan has been a software professional for 15 years. She has worked with Dr. Rajaram for 7 years at Expert Software Consultants. A Carnatic music teacher who also volunteers at Prajna and Project Cornerstone, Mrs. Shoba has been associated with Lokalex in mentoring primary children of The Namakkal School.
Ms. Chitra Ramachandran is a retired Zoology Professor from Stella Maris College, Chennai. She has been associated with Lokalex for the past one and a half years and teaches simple concepts in biology to the primary children of Namakkal School.
Mrs. Jayasri Rangarajan from Pune, has worked with The Nuclear Power Corporation. She has been involved in Counseling and Psychotherapy while persuing her M.sc in Applied Psychology. She has been associated with lokalex for the past two years and has been mentoring primary children of the Salem and Namakkal School.
Mrs. Parvathi Ramalingam is a retired Banking Professional from SBI from Mumbai. She quit to add value to the lives of children with special needs and pursued her Post Graduate Diploma in Special education and an Advanced Certificate course in counseling. She joined the Lokalex initiative in 2014.
Mrs. Girija Rao – An Economics graduate from Ethiraj College (1978 batch) was a home maker till 1989. Completed her Montessori training and went on to work in IT industry for 15 years. She currently teaches Phonics and English for children. She has been associated with Lokalex for the past one year.
